Great “short” with a great soundtrack.
As first impressions go, I don’t remember my impression of Ashlynn Yennie. I was busy hovering around her table, coming back every so often to meet with her except she was swarmed constantly with fanboys. Not the good ones either – no. The stereotypical Creepy McCreepertons looming and drooling over “that hot chick from The Human Centipede.“ I’m pretty sure this is the first time I actually felt really bad for a celebrity.

A very good movie with just one flaw…
This month’s movies:
Berberian Sound Studio (2012)
Lackey: “But…he doesn’t, like, kill anybody, he just goes and shouts at some poor Italian woman. Actually, I shouldn’t say ‘poor Italian woman,’ ‘cuz she…”
Drudgie: “She was kind of a bitch!”
Lackey: “Kind of a bitch?”
Drudgie: “I was trying to be nice!”
Frankenstein (1910)
Drudgie: “In the original story, the laboratory scene is like, I think like, three lines long? But in the movies, it’s the big centerpiece of it.”
John: “I think the whole conceit behind that was that Mary Shelley didn’t want to reveal how it was done out of fear that someone else might do it.”
Lackey: “Because if there’s one thing in the world that Mary Shelley would have been an expert on, it’s how to piece together a bunch of…bits of dead body and create life out of that.”
John: “She learned from Lord Byron.”
Sushi Girl (2012)
Jori: “He was the saddest-sack son of a bitch. I mean, to fuckin’ snort cocaine with your son’s fucking picture is unreal, unreal.”
John: “And you can see the shame on his face when he did it, too. He had to do it.”
This month’s panel: Lackey, the Drudgeon, Jori, Hunter, John.
