Will the bad movies ever stop!

We start the movie with Ellen Brody (Lorraine Gary) and one of her sons, Sean (Mitchell Anderson) going about their day. A little later Sean has to go get a drifting boat out of the water, but while he is there a shark attacks him. He is killed and Ellen starts to lose her mind. We find that Martin (from the first two movies) died a little while ago of a heart attack. Well, she blames the shark for both of the deaths and is now seeking revenge. She goes to spend some time with her other son Michael (Lance Guest), his wife, Carla (Karen Young) and daughter, Thea (Judith Barsi). We also meet Michael’s work partner, Jake (Mario Van Peebles) and a pilot named Hoagie (Michael Caine) who Ellen seems to be falling for.
The question is not, “Where do I begin with this movie?” but more like, “Why do I begin with this movie?” Wow what a piece of crap! My main gripe about The Revenge is the fact that they have tried to delete Jaws III from the continuity. This has happened quite a few times in movies, Halloween did it with numbers 4-6, Sleepaway Camp with 2-3, and Pumpkinhead with 2. Now every time this happens, I consider it to be a major asshole move. When those movies were made, they were obviously good enough to carry the franchise title, but years later; they aren’t good enough, really? Sometimes they succeed, Pumpkinhead 3-4 were far superior than 2, but most of the time they are worse. Sleepaway Camp is the best example of this, 2-3 were great, while Return To was just terrible. Stop trying to erase movies that have already been made, and just move on to new projects, please! You’re just pissing off the people who like the original sequels.
With that aside, everything else is just terrible. The whole cast couldn’t possibly overact any more than they already are. Every line is just terrible and everyone just has a problem with delivering them. The effects are just crapped out and holy shit what an ending. SPOILER! The ending has the shark blowing up. Now what’s wrong with that you may ask? Well, when there is no reason for the shark exploding, that is when the problem arises. I’m not saying that there was no point to the explosion, what I’m saying is that there is no logical reason for the shark to explode. No explosives, no air tanks, no gunpowder, etc…just plain pointless. After that, when they are floating in the lake after the explosion, you can actually see the water hitting the sides of the tank that they are actually swimming in. Now that’s really sad that they let that go.
Should anyone see this movie? Hell no! Avoid this at all costs! Please, listen to me on this one!Have You Read...?
