Buffy’s take on Frankenstein…ugh…
* * *
School is back in full swing, and apparently the science fair is mandatory. As Willow is signing up we meet Chris, who seems to be the reigning champion of the science fair. While they talk, we meet Eric, who is just running around taking pictures of the girls. As the episode moves along, we learn that bodies are being stolen from the graveyard and ideas are tossed around. It turns out that Cordelia dated Chris’s older brother Daryl, and he died not that long ago. Chris took the death really hard and just couldn’t let go, so he “rebuilt” his brother, and now is trying to make a mate for him.
So this episode wasn’t so bad. The acting is pretty good, with the exception of Michael Bacall (Eric), Angelo Spizzirri (Chris), and Ingo Neuhaus (Daryl)…pretty much anyone who isn’t in the main cast (which seems to be the regular thing). Which hurts the episode because they are part of the main focus. But that’s minor, because everyone else does his or her characters good enough to cover for them.
The effects are pretty good, with them being believable enough.
One of the better episodes so far, not the best, but definitely entertaining enough for a watch.
Now come the questions.
First—How come Chris is not being taken away in cuffs at the end of the episode? Let’s see…he’s a grave robber and a potential murderer! Isn’t that enough? Oh, that’s right, he’s sorry, so we should just let him go. Really?
Second—Again with Chris. Why the hell is he not being talked to by the government? I mean, shit, he brought someone back from the dead and built a human. If that doesn’t have the government wanting to talk to him, I don’t know what will.
Lastly—Again, Angel is a completely weak bitch! (Not really a question, but I asked last episode and it needed to be said again.)Have You Read...?
